Say "I DO" to History
About Us
Welcome to Sighisoara, Transylvania. The last european citadel still habitated. This is the place where Innana Events welcomes you to say 'I do', to step back into a time filled with romance, knights and princess... pure history and pure love.
The town of Sighisoara is the most enchanting of all the Transylvanian towns. Its medieval buildings, gilded roofs and towers have been unspoiled by war or modern industry. The Citadel, built by the Saxons in the 12th Century, rises above the town and is preserved as a museum. The notorious Vlad Tepes, popularly called Dracula, was born in this town.
Sighisoara Citadel - An UNESCO World Heritage Site
As the road to Brasov enters in the large vallet of the Tarnava river, suddenly between two hills appears in its mediaeval beauty the town of Sighisoara. This gorgeus town with its history of thousands of years is the home of Romanian, Hungarian and Saxon nations. In german Schaessburg, in Hungarian Segesvar, Sighisoara is a beautiful middle age castle. Sighisoara is considered to be the most beautiful and well preserved inhabited citadel in Europe, with an authentic medieval architecture. In Eastern Europe, Sighisoara is one of the few fortified towns which are still inhabited. The town is made up of two parts. The medieval stronghold was built on top of a hill and is known as the "Citadel" (Cetate). The lower town lies in the valley of Tarnava Mare river.
The houses inside Sighisoara Citadel show the main features of a craftsmen's town. However, there are some houses which belonged to the former patriciate, like the Venetian House and the House with Antlers. "The House with Antlers" has been brought into the possession of the Messerschmitt Foundation with the help of the Romanian Government and the town council of Sighisoara in April 2000, defrauding the legitimate heirs, the descendents Leicht-Bacon (with English roots), who are mentioned in the cadaster of Sighisoara as owners before the communist dispossession of 1950.
